Communications Update

I'm hooked on AT&T  DSL !!!

I networked the whole house with Cat6 so I can take advantage of those Gigabit network speeds on my home network. No, I did not even consider wireless, since I am generally paranoid and don't yet trust the neighborhood sniffers, besides, wireless is not known for it's throughput either and I image my hard disks through the network and need the bandwidth..

I have been a DirecTV subscriber since it first came out and then upgraded my system to a DirectPC when it was first available since I lived in a remote area not served any better than a 28800 connection on a good day. So after many years of enjoying digital quality programming and fast downloads from the dish, I switched to DishTV as part of the SBC package. What a mistake, if the evening weather report includes rain, the dish goes out. I gave up and switched back to DirecTV which has a more robust programming package than Dish TV. I bought a 52" Panasonic Plasma HD TV and the picture jumps right out of the screen - what a great investment.
